Celebrating Christmas 2018 at Sound of Heaven Church

SOH Christmas Service – December 23rd, 2018

As we look forward to our Christmas Service on December, 23rd, we reflect on this month. Christmas time is always a blast at Sound of Heaven Church.  First, we thank  Jesus for being our Rock all year long and look to spread a little cheer as we “rock around the Christmas tree”.  Whether it’s learning the word, worshipping, laughing it up or wearing ugly sweaters, we always aim to have fun as we grow.  God wants you to have fun on this journey of life and He wants you to grow.

So about those Ugly Sweaters…

“Deck the Halls” Christmas Party

SOH Christmas Party 1
Mitul and Rebekah made a power move with their custom “Ugly Sweaters”. Can you recognize “Who they’re wearing”?

Our “Deck the Halls” party was a huge success!  SOH Members and guests from throughout the community came together for crafts, Christmas carols, yummy food, trimming the tree, and so much more!  Each family left with a Ginger Bread house to take home and complete together. The night finished with an “Ugly Sweater Contest”.  Lit for Light, SOH’s Young Adult Ministry were solidly represented by Core Members Rebekah and Mitul.  They made a valiant attempt at seizing the win with a  creative strategy.  They had custom-made “ugly sweaters”  donning the likeness of Apostle Johnny and Evangelist Jason.  Nice try, but both fell just shy of the  3 finalists.

In the end, it came down to 3 solid entrees but Evangelist Jason prevailed with his DIY massacring of “2 Turtle Doves”.  No doves were harmed in the making of that sweater, but it has been reported that doves all over the world were offended. In the end, it was an amazing time.  There were lots of laughs and memories were made.

Adopting Kids & Christmas Wishes

Since we celebrate Jesus, the greatest gift this world has ever known with the exchange of presents, we decided to adopt families across Long Island.  Members banded together to by gifts for kids ranging from 2 – 16.  In some cases, we even hear that “Santa Klaus” is going to drop them off accompanied by some elves. Pictures will be coming soon as expected delivery dates are somewhere between December 22nd and Christmas Eve. Thank you to all who donated to make sure these kids had a great Christmas morning!
