Johnny Ova has been a devoted follower of Jesus since the age of 17, when he experienced a life-changing encounter with God. Married to his wife Rachel since 2011, Johnny is the proud father of five incredible children—LJ, Zoe, Massimo, Lucy, and Eden. Together, Johnny and Rachel are the senior leaders of Sound of Heaven Church, which they planted in 2011 with a mission to bring people into a genuine relationship with Jesus. They have dedicated their lives to teaching others how to express their faith authentically through worship while growing daily into the image of Christ. Their ministry is marked by a deep passion to help people discover their God-given purpose and live transformed lives.
Before stepping into full-time ministry, Johnny pursued a successful career as a professional wrestler, trained by the legendary “Million Dollar Man” Ted DiBiase. He traveled the world, competing in wrestling arenas and sharing his testimony of how he came to know Jesus. Johnny’s wrestling career was not only about athletic achievement but also served as a platform for evangelism, where he reached countless people with the message of hope and redemption. His boldness in sharing his faith extended beyond the ring, leading him to form street evangelism teams that witnessed to thousands across Long Island, NY. Johnny and his team would engage directly with people on the streets, introducing them to the God they never knew existed. In one unforgettable day, they baptized over 200 people right on the streets, a testament to the power of their ministry.
Johnny is ordained as a pastor, evangelist, and minister under Apostle Axel Sippach and the IMPACT network team of Apostle John Eckhardt, in addition to being recognized by four other denominations. He is widely respected for his boldness and his ability to teach the Bible in a way that is both relatable and profoundly insightful. Johnny has a gift for breaking down complex biblical concepts, making them easy to understand and apply, while also diving deeply into the rich history and cultural context of Scripture. His teachings inspire transformation, and his passion for God’s Word sets him apart as a dynamic leader and teacher who captivates both new believers and seasoned Christians.
Today, Johnny is a highly sought-after speaker and teacher, with invitations to share his message and teachings around the globe. Beyond his work at Sound of Heaven Church, he runs a fast-growing YouTube channel called Bible Stories with Johnny Ova, where he creatively brings the stories of the Bible to life through engaging storytelling. His videos, infused with cultural insights and historical connections, reach audiences worldwide and continue to draw people closer to God.
