Statement Of Faith

faith rooted in truth. What We
Believe.

We don't ask you to take our word for anything. We open the Bible, read it in context, and let Scripture speak for itself. Here's what we believe and why.

01 / 15 The Father

God
The Source.

There is one God. He is the Creator of everything, the source of life, and the Father of all who put their faith in Him. He is fully revealed in Jesus, so when we want to know what God is like, we look at Jesus.

God is good. God is love. He is not distant, angry, or waiting to crush you. He sent His Son because He wanted relationship with us. Anywhere you see the heart of Jesus, that's the heart of the Father.

If you really know me, you will know my Father as well. From now on, you do know him and have seen him.

John 14:7

02 / 15 The Son

Jesus.

Jesus is the final and complete revelation of God. He came as God in the flesh, lived a perfect life, taught the truth, healed the sick, set people free, and paid the ultimate price on the cross. Three days later He rose from the dead, defeated sin, and made the way for everyone to come back to the Father.

Jesus is the lens through which we read everything else. If something in Scripture seems to contradict the heart of Jesus, we trust Jesus. He is the Way, the Truth, and the Life. Through Him, every person on earth can know God personally, regardless of background, history, or past.

03 / 15 The Spirit

The Holy Spirit.

The Holy Spirit is God's Spirit living inside every believer. The same Spirit that raised Jesus from the dead lives inside the believer today. That changes everything.

ONE GOD FULLY REVEALED IN JESUS FATHER SOURCE SON REVELATION SPIRIT PRESENCE Three persons. One God. The Holy Spirit fills every believer.

He is our Helper, our Comforter, our Guide. He convicts us when we're off track, strengthens us when we're weak, and gives us access to the wisdom of the Father.

Just like Jesus walked the earth fully filled with the Spirit, we are too. That changes how we live. How we pray. How we engage the world around us.

04 / 15 Sola Scriptura

The Bible.

The Bible is the inspired Word of God, written through real people in real cultures across real history. It tells one unified story: God pursuing relationship with humanity from Genesis to Revelation.

Context is everything. The Bible was written by people in specific moments, to specific audiences, in specific cultures. When you read it that way, the Word comes alive. When you don't, you end up with bad theology that hurts people.

At Sound of Heaven we are obsessed with reading Scripture the way it was actually written. And we read everything through Jesus, because He is the final and complete revelation of God.

05 / 15 Free Gift

Salvation.

No one can see the kingdom of God unless they are born again.

John 3:3

Salvation is a free gift. You can't earn it. You can't be good enough to qualify for it, and you can't be bad enough to miss out on it. All you have to do is receive it.

That happens when you admit that you've missed the mark, believe that Jesus died and rose again, and put your trust in Him. The moment you do, you become a new creation. The old you is gone. You step into a real, personal, intimate relationship with God that lasts forever.

If you've ever wondered whether you're saved, or what salvation actually means, we'd love to talk with you.

06 / 15 Made In His Image

Humanity.

God made every human being in His image. That means every person you pass on Deer Park Avenue, every coworker, every stranger, every enemy carries the fingerprint of God. Every person has inherent worth.

Sin broke the relationship between humanity and God. We can't fix it on our own, no matter how hard we try. That's why Jesus came. Through Him, that broken relationship is fully restored. There is nothing in any person's past, present, or future that God cannot redeem.

07 / 15 Apostolic Foundation

Church Structure.

The church isn't a building. The church is people. The early Acts church operated under the five-fold ministry described in Ephesians 4. Five functions, given by Jesus, to equip His people.

APOSTLE VISIONARY Sent to pioneer PROPHET VOICE Speaks the Father's heart EVANGELIST MESSENGER Spreads the Gospel SHEPHERD PASTOR Cares for the flock TEACHER INSTRUCTOR Equips with truth Five gifts. One Body. Given by Jesus to equip His people. (Ephesians 4:11)

These five gifts are not titles or hierarchy. They are functions Jesus gave to equip His people and grow His Kingdom. When all five are present in a local church, the people are fully equipped to walk in the fullness of what God called them to.

At Sound of Heaven, we believe in the restoration of the five-fold ministry. That's not a title we wear. That's a foundation we operate on.

08 / 15 Public Declaration

Baptism
By Water.

Water baptism is a public, outward declaration of an inward change. When you go under the water, you are saying out loud what already happened on the inside. The old you died. The new you came up alive in Christ.

Baptism doesn't save you. Jesus does that. But baptism is a beautiful step of obedience and identification with the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus. We hold water baptism services several times a year. If you're ready, we'd love to walk you through it.

09 / 15 Filled With Power

Baptism Of
The Holy Spirit.

The baptism of the Holy Spirit is the filling Jesus promised to every believer. It's how He fills us with the same Spirit that raised Him from the dead, equipping us to do what He did and even greater things.

The gifts of the Spirit, wisdom, faith, miracles, healing, prophecy, discerning of spirits, tongues, and the interpretation of tongues, are still active today. They never expired. They were never meant to. The same Spirit at work in the book of Acts is at work in the church today.

For we were all baptized by one Spirit so as to form one body, whether Jews or Gentiles, slave or free, and we were all given the one Spirit to drink.

1 Corinthians 12:13

10 / 15 Voice Of The Father

Prophetic
Ministry.

God still speaks. He spoke through prophets in the Old Testament. He spoke through prophets in the New Testament. He still speaks through prophets today. The prophetic gift is about hearing the voice of the Father and faithfully delivering His message to His people.

The prophetic word in the new covenant strengthens, encourages, and comforts. It builds people up. It points people to Jesus.

If a prophetic word doesn't reflect the heart of the Father, it isn't from Him. We test everything. We honor the gift. We refuse to let it become entertainment.

11 / 15 Freedom Available

Deliverance
Ministry.

Deliverance is available to every child of God. Most of what people are struggling with, addiction, fear, anxiety, shame, broken patterns, has a spiritual root underneath the physical symptom. The lies that bind us run deep, but the truth of God runs deeper.

At Sound of Heaven, deliverance is not theatrical. It's not horror movie material. It's the renewal of the mind, the encounter with truth, and the breaking of every lie that's kept you stuck. Through prayer, the Word, and the power of the Holy Spirit, people walk into real freedom.

If you are struggling in any area of life, we would love to stand with you and walk it out together.

12 / 15 Defeated At The Cross

The
Adversary.

By his death he broke the power of him who holds the power of death.

Hebrews 2:14

Scripture talks about Satan, the accuser, the adversary. The forces that oppose God and oppose people. These are real influences. They show up as deception, oppression, accusation, fear, and chaos in the human experience.

But we don't read Satan or demons the way Hollywood draws them. The Bible was written by people in a specific culture using specific language to describe spiritual realities. When you read it in context, the picture is different than what most people think.

Here's what we know for sure. Jesus already defeated every force that opposes us at the cross. The accuser has no authority over the believer. We are not in a fight to win something. We are walking out a victory that's already secure.

13 / 15 Already Fulfilled

The End Times.

This one might surprise you. The end times the New Testament writers talked about were not about the end of planet Earth. They were about the end of the Old Covenant age. The shift from the law of Moses to the new covenant in Jesus.

OLD COVENANT LAW OF MOSES Limited to Israel Mediated through priests 70 AD COVENANTAL CLIMAX Destruction of Jerusalem NEW COVENANT LIFE IN JESUS Open to all people Direct access to God We are not waiting. We are living in the fullness of what Jesus accomplished.

Jesus said it would happen in that generation. And it did. The destruction of Jerusalem in 70 AD marked the covenantal end of the age. Matthew 24, Revelation, Daniel, Thessalonians, all of it points to that real, historical, covenantal moment.

What that means for us right now is huge. We are not waiting for the Kingdom. We are living in it. We are not on the edge of the end. We are living in the fullness of the new covenant. Every promise Jesus made about His Kingdom is available today.

14 / 15 Eternal Life

Eternity.

Eternal life is the gift Jesus offers to everyone who believes. It is not a reward for being good. It is the natural result of being made new in Christ. If you are born again in Jesus, you will spend eternity with God. Forever.

Here is where we differ from a lot of churches. We don't believe in eternal conscious torment. Scripture talks about Gehenna, about destruction, about perishing. Those words mean what they say. The wicked don't suffer forever in a chamber of horrors. They simply cease to exist.

God is loving. God is just. He gives every person every opportunity to choose life. Eternal life is a gift. Eternal death is the absence of that life. Our God does not torment people forever. He invites them home.

15 / 15 Our Marching Orders

The Great
Commission.

Jesus told His followers to go into all the world, share the Good News, and make disciples. That command did not expire. It is just as alive today as the day He spoke it.

Every generation needs the Gospel. Long Island needs the Gospel. The next door neighbor needs the Gospel. The coworker needs the Gospel. We are committed to sharing the love of Jesus on every platform, in every conversation, in every season.

Earthly life is short. The mission is urgent. The harvest is real. That's why we exist. Not to be a religious club, but to make Jesus known.
