Our Thanksgiving turkey drive has one rule: if your family needs a turkey, you get a turkey. Every November we partner with the community to give away thousands of them. No paperwork. No questions. No speech you have to sit through first.

Jesus fed people. Five thousand on a hillside. Breakfast on a beach after a long night of fishing. He knew a hungry person has a hard time hearing anything over an empty stomach, and He never once made anybody earn a meal.
Thanksgiving week on Long Island can be heavy for a family that's behind. The rent went up. The hours got cut. Somebody got sick. A turkey won't fix all of that. But it's one less thing to worry about, and it tells you somebody noticed. That's what we want every family to feel when they walk away.
We don't ask for paperwork because Jesus didn't ask for paperwork. Grace you have to qualify for isn't grace.
For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you invited me in.
