Sunday morning for a Huntington family can look like this. Coffee in the cup holder, kids in the back seat, Route 110 down to the Expressway, and about 20 minutes later you are pulling into Sound of Heaven Church at 375 Commack Road. The kids head upstairs to Kingdom Kids. You find a seat, we worship together, and I open the Bible. We would love for this to be your church.
Sound of Heaven has offered such a powerful encounter with fellow people hungry for the living God from my first experience there and every week thereafter. They really walk beside you and show what a life following Christ can look like. It is an authentic mixed group of people seeking to grow, and I am grateful that I have found them. More like grateful that God put me in a position to discover SOH.

My podcast on the Bible and real life. Put an episode on for the ride down the Expressway and you will walk in already thinking.
ListenFrom Huntington Station it is about 20 minutes, a little more from the village. Leave half an hour before service and you will have time to check the kids in and grab a coffee.
Take New York Avenue, which is Route 110, south past the Huntington train station and across Jericho Turnpike. From there it is Walt Whitman Road. You will pass the Walt Whitman Shops and West Hills County Park, then go through the Northern State interchange.
At Exit 49, get on the Expressway heading east. Ride it past Exit 50 for Bagatelle Road and Exit 51 for Deer Park Avenue.
Take Exit 52 and turn south on Commack Road into Deer Park. Cross the railroad tracks and look for us at 375 Commack Rd, near the Stop & Shop.
Closer to Jericho Turnpike on the east side? Take Jericho Turnpike east to the light at Commack Road and turn right. Commack Road runs south through the Northern State and the Expressway and brings you straight to our door.
Each service runs about 90 minutes. A live band leads worship first. Then I teach for about forty minutes, in plain language, with the history and context that help the Bible make sense. Both services run the same way.
Out the door by 8:30, back up Route 110 before lunch, and the whole afternoon is yours.
For the houses where finding everyone's shoes takes a while. Kingdom Kids runs at this one too, and the coffee bar is open.

Wednesday NightsSome of our best days happen outside a Sunday service. These are the outreaches your family can serve in, and the ones worth inviting the people on your street to. Dates go on the events calendar each year.
Short answers to the things you will want to know before your first Sunday with us.
About 20 minutes from Huntington Station, a little longer from the village. Take Route 110 south to the Long Island Expressway, go east to Exit 52, then head south on Commack Road to number 375 in Deer Park.
Someone from our First Impressions team will meet you and walk you to Kingdom Kids check-in. Kids go up to their own floor for worship, Bible stories and games during both services. Check-in is secure, and every volunteer is background-checked.
We are a Spirit-filled, non-denominational church, in Deer Park since 2011. We pray for the sick, we believe the gifts of the Spirit are active today, and we read the whole Bible through Jesus. There is no dress code, and nobody will single you out as a visitor.
Yes. A Wednesday is an easy way to get a feel for us. Every Wednesday at 7:00 PM we gather for a Worship Night, a Night of Prayer, or a Topical Bible Study, depending on the week. You can come in person or join online.
Serve with us. The Thanksgiving Turkey Drive, Christmas Town and the Veterans Appreciation Dinner all need volunteers, and each one is an easy thing to invite a neighbor to. Watch the events calendar for dates, or call us at 631-818-1919.
Tell us which Sunday you are coming and how many kids are in the car. We will meet you at the door and walk them to check-in. If you would rather slip in quietly, that works too. Read what we believe first if you want, then come meet us.
